▯▯▯▯▐ With the dragons gone — all of them, overnight — it feels as if he’s missing a limb. Or a major part of himself at least. He can’t even narrow down the reason they all disappeared. He wants to know. He wants to find them. Although, what he really wants is for them to have not abandoned him in the first place.
But he can’t really stand around, waiting for something to happen. That’s not going to get anyone anywhere. With what little resources he could muster, he made to search the surroundings.
Just for a sign.
He makes his way through the forest expertly, as he’s done so many times before. He’s used to most forms of land, not that it stops him stumbling over the occasional root or two.
What he doesn’t expect is to wander across another human being in the middle of nowhere. In fact, he hasn’t seen one in such along time that he’s afraid to approach them. So he’ll just hide here in the bushes for now.
tonight was another sleepless night. he could never sleep during cases; his mind worked too fast to sleep. to the agony of many, he had often bungled a deal of cases due to his abstinence from morpheus’ hold.
it did not matter.
( where did that go? no one knows. why did they leave? a secret not his. )
he closed his eyes and breathed in slowly.
“either leave or approach. i do not tolerate hesitancy. ”
